Anti-Bullying Week
Last week marked Anti-Bullying week and as a whole school we used our collective worship time to focus on friendship and the kind things we can say and do to halt hurtful behaviour. The theme this year is ‘One Kind Word’. Kindness is more important today than it has ever been. The isolation of the last year, during the pandemic has underlined how little acts of kindness and consideration can break down barriers and brighten the lives of the people around us. One kind word can be a turning point. It can change someone’s perspective and best of all, one kind word leads to another. We have talked a lot this week about the role we can all play in the chain reaction that promotes positivity and the fact that kindness fuels kindness. At HT, every child signed a special pledge to remember our school values and to always be kind. I also shared the beautiful story The Barnabus Project by The Fan Brothers and every class has a copy of the text in their class libraries.
