RSE Curriculum Update For Parents and Carers

The Department for Education has issued an update (see link below) regarding the implementation of Relationships Education, Relationships and Sex Education and Health Education. Due to the coronavirus and closures, some schools may not be in a position to meet the requirements outlined in the statutory guidance regarding RSHE.

An extension has been granted to make full preparation to deliver the curriculum and start teaching the content by summer term 2021.

The DfE suggests a phased approach, and that schools should consider prioritising curriculum content on mental health and well being, as supporting their own and others’ well being will be important for pupils as they return to school.
