Year 3 - Morrie Turner Class
Welcome to the Morrie Turner Class!
Miss Craig is our class teacher. We also have Miss Garwood and Mrs Chandler supporting the children in their learning.
Dear Parents & Carers,
I have uploaded a pack of learning below that will take us to 22nd January 2021. We will be in touch around this time to give details of when to expect further learning.
I have included a daily English, maths, and topic/ other curriculum area task. In the booklet I have also included an example of a timetable you may want to use. If the timetable does not suit you, then do not feel any pressure to stick to it. Please also continue to use my maths where additional maths activities will be set.
I have also put together a list of useful websites that your children can use at home, these are games that we often use in class. Please click on the free links as we do not subscribe to play, and ensure children are supervised when using the internet.
Paper home learning packs will be available to collect from school on Friday 8th January but are available to download online.
Please continue to read at home each day, and remember children are constantly learning. Your children can use the reading log books or they can create their own reading diary.
We will be also be using 'Class Dojo' which is a fun, school based communication platform that teachers, children, and families can use every day to share learning. The simple app can be downloaded onto a smartphone or used through a web browser.
I will be uploading short videos, links and messages each day to support the learning and you can send me photos of learning that children complete each day via the app.
Please do not hesitate to contact me if you need any guidance.
Take care and stay safe,

Who was Morrie Turner?
Hello year 3! I’m so sorry that we won’t be spending our last week together before the Christmas holidays but I will be putting lots of activities for you to complete. You can email me your completed activities and show me any extra learning you’ve been doing :)
Please find below all the activities that should be accessed and completed each day. You will find a maths activity, a literacy activity and a key skills activity to complete. There will also be links to videos and additional learning support websites that you can access to support your child in their learning. Please feel free to contact me via email at firstname.lastname@example.org if you have any queries about the activities set. Happy home learning year 3!
Joy - Advent Week 3
These things I have spoken to you, that my joy may be in you, and that your joy may be full.
Monday activity: Think about things that make you full of joy. Can you write a list of everything that you enjoy doing or seeing? What is so special about these things that make you joyful and why is it such an important quality to experience in our lives? What could you do for someone to help them be joyful?
Tuesday activity: Here is a link to a brilliant video looking at our senses. Christmas gives us a chance to explore all of our senses from the sight of our presents in the morning to the smell of a Christmas feast. Can you think of any more Christmas related ideas that link to our senses? Write a list and see how many you can think of. You could maybe even draw a picture of the 5 senses. You can use the template below to help you.
Christmas performance KS1 and KS2
The children at Holy Trinity worked so hard to deliver their Christmas performances. In year 3, we chose to sing the song 'We Three Kings'. We practised everyday to present to you a performance that we are so proud of. Please find attached the links to the KS1 and KS2 performances. Enjoy!
Maths will be set each day on my maths. Please use the following link to access the website. https://www.mymaths.co.uk/
The children all have their individual logins which they use to enter the website. If your child has lost their login then please contact me so that I can provide you with a new one.
I will also be uploading some activities that can be completed on paper if you do not have access to a computer or tablet.
Please find below a grammar activity and a writing activity to complete each day. We have been working really hard with our grammar games so feel free to play these at home! The children are experts in these games now so parents and guardians, it's your challenge to try and beat them!
Ninja nouns (countries, animals or colours)
Verbalicious (acting it out. Can you guess the verb?)
Year 3, you could also keep practising our grammar songs. If you'd like to send me a video of you performing them then feel free!
Additional websites to support learning
P.E takes place on a Tuesday morning. Please ensure that your child comes into school in their kit due to the new guidance policy.
If you wish to contact Miss Craig then please do so via email email@example.com
