January 2021
Dear Parents & Carers,
Due to schools being closed until February half term all teachers have created a homework pack for pupils to access so they can continue to work.
This first pack will take us to January the 22nd. At this time I will release another pack to then finish off the spring term.
When your child is completing their work please share what they have done on ClassDojo, this way I can see they are working and monitor progress for when we return to school based learning.
Thank you,
Mr Fisher

Dear Parents/Carers,
Due to the current pandemic, learning will have to be completed at home. Please encourage your child to learn their multiplication and division facts daily, as well as practising all four number operation calculations- addition, subtraction, multiplication and division number sentences. Remind your child to always use the inverse method to check their answer is correct.
Your child should be reading daily (at least 5 pages), as reading is very important with supporting their progress in writing. In class, we look at the following reading strategies in Destination Reader: Predicting, Asking questions, Inferring, Evaluating, Clarifying, Summarising and Making Connections (Links). Encourage your child to refer to these strategies. When completing writing tasks, your child should thoroughly check their work for grammar and punctuation errors, ensuring their sentences make sense.
I have attached links to great learning resources that I use in class. Please refer to these learning sites on this page and Esther Class' general class page to support teaching your child at home.
Best Wishes,
Miss James

Easter Activities!
Dear Esther Class,
I am missing you very much! I hope you and your families are safe and well. Thank you for all your challenge entries. I have really enjoyed looking at all of them!
I have put together some home learning for the next six weeks. You have a Maths and English task each day and one RE, History, Science, Reading task each week. There is also a tab called additional resources, which has more activities that you can complete. There are some really fun Science experiments in this tab!
There is a word document called 'weekly overview', which lists activities to be carried out each week. For certain topics, I have included a PowerPoint to support your understanding. If you find any of the work tricky, please use BBC Bitesize or other educational sites to help you.
Remember to be resilient in your learning!
I am looking forward to seeing you all soon! If you have any problems please email me or speak to me about it, during our weekly call.
Wishing you all the best,
Miss James
